My Journey
NITHYA EKATA
Pranayama and Meditation Instructor and Designer
I am a pranayama meditation teacher, researcher, designer, and spiritual entrepreneur. However, the elements within my work processes are not separate. The breathwork I teach, the ancient texts I research, the jewelry I design, the clothing I create, and the Astro-Prana system I develop all draw from the same source: the experience of consciousness in life.
My journey began in Istanbul, a city that has stood for millennia as a bridge between civilizations, cultures, and spiritual traditions. Growing up among layers of ancient history awakened in me a deep fascination with the wisdom traditions that have guided humanity across time. I was especially drawn to the mysteries of the Divine Feminine, sacred symbolism, and the hidden threads connecting ancient civilizations through a shared spiritual heritage.
What began as curiosity gradually became a lifelong path of study, practice, and devotion.
Over the years, this path led me far beyond books and intellectual inquiry. I traveled through India, the Himalayas, and the Amazon, immersing myself in living traditions and ceremonial cultures. Rather than observing these teachings from a distance, I sought to experience them directly through practice, discipline, and relationship with authentic lineages.
A defining aspect of my journey has been receiving initiation into living spiritual traditions. In the yogic and tantric world, initiation is far more than a ceremony; it is the transmission of a living current of wisdom that has been preserved and carried through generations of practitioners. It represents responsibility, commitment, and the beginning of a deeper relationship with the teachings.
Among the most transformative blessings of my path has been my initiation into the Śrī Vidyā tradition. Through the grace of Guru and lineage, I entered a stream of practice centered on mantra, yantra, meditation, devotion, and direct inner realization. This initiation profoundly shaped my understanding of spiritual practice, teaching me that true knowledge is not merely accumulated through study but awakened through disciplined practice and grace.
I hold deep reverence for the Guru-Paramparā ,the unbroken lineage of teachers who have preserved these teachings throughout centuries. Everything I share today rests upon foundations laid by countless realized beings, practitioners, and masters who dedicated their lives to keeping this wisdom alive. My work is not an attempt to claim ownership of these traditions but to serve as a respectful bridge through which their essence may continue to reach contemporary seekers.
My studies have also led me into the world of Sanskrit texts and traditional proto Turkic sources. I devote significant time to researching and translating tantric and yogic teachings, seeking to uncover the living wisdom embedded within ancient manuscripts. For me, research is not separate from practice. Wisdom becomes meaningful when it serves direct experience and inner transformation.
This same philosophy extends into my creative work.
As a designer, I approach jewelry and clothing as sacred forms rather than mere aesthetic objects. During the creation process, I work with mantra, yantra, symbolism, and intentional awareness. Each piece is designed as a reminder of qualities already present within the wearer strength, wisdom, beauty, protection, abundance, and self-recognition.
My original methodology, Astro-Prana, emerged from years of integrating these diverse streams of knowledge. Combining astrological insight with the science of breath and pranic awareness, it offers a personalized approach to inner development that honors both the rhythms of the cosmos and the unique constitution of the individual.
At the heart of everything I do lies a single intention:
To help people remember their wholeness.
Whether through breathwork, meditation, ancient teachings, sacred design, mantra practice, or personal guidance, my work seeks to reconnect individuals with the deeper intelligence already living within them.
I remain, above all, a practitioner of the path.
A practitioner of the sacred traditions that continue to illuminate the relationship between body, consciousness, and cosmos.
With gratitude to my teachers, my lineage, and all those who have walked before me, I offer this work in service of remembrance.
I am Nithya Ekata. A living practitioner of the Yogini tradition, a guide of prana through breath, a creator of sacred design, and one of the contemporary travelers embodying ancient wisdom.
