FULL PRODUCT DESCRIPTION:

Before Cybele rode her lions across the Anatolian plain. Before Artemis claimed the forests of Ephesus. Before any name was given to the sacred feminine force that moves between worlds ,There was Umay. In the oldest layers of proto-Turkic and Central Asian spiritual memory in the traditions of the steppes that predate every empire that ever crossed them .Umay was the great sky goddess, the white-winged protectress of the soul, the guardian of women in birth and children in their first vulnerable passage into life. She flew between the seen and the unseen. She carried the souls of the departed upward. She descended when protection was needed most and no human hand could reach. She was never forgotten. She simply went quiet. And waited. This pendant is her return. Crafted in sterling silver filigree of extraordinary intricacy the body of a great bird rendered in the sacred geometry of Central Asian metalwork, wings inlaid with deep lapis lazuli that carries the color of the night sky she ruled, a single turquoise eye set at her crown like the third eye of a goddess who has always seen further than those around her. Her talons grip and descend not in aggression, but in the precise, purposeful way of a being who knows exactly what she is protecting and exactly what it costs to do so. The strand that carries her is itself a cosmology. Turquoise rounds  sky medicine, the stone of the shaman-traveler, of the one who moves between worlds without losing their ground. In every culture that stretched across the Central Asian corridor from Anatolia to the Altai mountains, from Persia to Tibet turquoise was the primary protective stone of the feminine mystic. It is the color of Umay's sky. It is the color of the throat that speaks truth. Lapis lazuli chips  irregular, raw, royal. The stone of the night sky, of inner vision, of the ancient goddess traditions that painted their sacred walls in that impossible blue. Lapis was ground into pigment to paint the eyes of Isis. It was buried with pharaohs. It was traded along the Silk Road the same road that carried the memory of Umay as the most precious substance known. Rudraksha seeds  Śiva's tears, the seeds of the highest Tantric transmission, anchoring the sky goddess to the earth practice, connecting the Anatolian feminine current to the living Yogic lineage. This is where your two worlds proto-Turkic goddess wisdom and Śrī Vidyā sādhana meet in a single strand. Silver spacers the breath between beads, the silence between mantras, the space that makes the sound possible. To wear the Umay Pakṣinī is to carry one of the oldest feminine protective forces known to the human soul and to bring her, consciously, into the present moment. She has been waiting for someone to remember her name.

A NOTE FROM THE CREATRIX

Umay is not from the Indic traditions that form the primary root of my practice. She is from my other root , the ancient Anatolian and proto-Turkic spiritual memory that lives in the land I was born on, in the city of Istanbul, where every layer of earth contains a goddess who was worshipped before the ones we remember. Creating this piece was an act of personal homecoming. Wearing it is an invitation to your own. -Nithya Ekata
